Bryce Durfee
1999-2016
Bryce was a thoughtful, giving, and fun loving kid known for his quirky grin, big heart, and even bigger hugs. He was unexpectedly taken from us on July 15, 2016 as a result of a lifelong medical condition. Bryce was born April 17, 1999 to Bryan Scott Durfee and Amy Jasper. We will always look back on the moments that made his life so meaningful. He was a hardworking, stubborn, spur of the moment kind of guy. He loved working with his hands, taking things apart and making something new. He once turned a lawn mower into a go-cart. He was great at, and enjoyed making PVC pipe air guns in the back yard. He could dream up anything. Bryce was able to take any idea and bring it to life. Many times throughout the years he surprised his mom, Lacie, with hand crafted treasures. He loved doing little things for her that showed how much he cared. He often told people how grateful he was to have her in his life. He loved riding 4-wheelers and horses, camping, and getting his hands dirty. He loved hunting and shooting with his idol, his dad. Despite not always seeing eye to eye, he wanted to be just like him and was into Fords, Nascar, fishing, and anything else his dad enjoyed. Like any little brother, Bryce could drive his sister, Hailey crazy. However, the two truly had a special bond. He loved to go anywhere and do anything with her. He always looked up to her and made sure she knew how much he loved her. It was easy to see he meant it. Bryce loved to be involved in harmless late-night shenanigans with his best friend and partner in crime, Sean. The loyalty and dedication between the two was incredible. When we look back on his short but meaningful life, we will smile knowing that he lived his life his way and lived it to the fullest. He wasn’t afraid to take chances or get hurt. He was confident in everything he did. We will never forget the sound of that contagious giggle or how he would always let you know that he loved you even if he had already told you several times that day. Bryce is survived by his parents; Bryan and Lacie Durfee, Amy and Don Kunzler; sister, Hailey; Grandparents Ken and Connie Durfee; Bret and Sabrina Anderson; Boyd and Judy Jasper; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins. A viewing will be held on Wednesday evening July 20,2016 from 6:00-7:30 P.M. at the Grantsville 7th Ward Chapel (415 W Apple St). Funeral services will be on Thursday July 21, 2016 at 12:00 P.M. with a viewing prior to the services from 10:30-11:30 at the same location. Interment will be at the Grantsville City Cemetery. Marcella Viola Aragon
1950 - 2016
Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and great friend Marcella Viola Aragon passed away on July 22, 2016. She was born to Elizardo and Sally Vigil in Embudo, New Mexico on April 20, 1950. She attended school in Tooele, and grew up in TAD Park and Tortilla Flats (TF). It is these neighborhoods where she met her husband and many lifelong friends and made great memories along the way. She married Robert Aragon in 1970 and together they had four beautiful children Marty (Michelle) Aragon, Danny (Tina) Aragon, Jesse Aragon, and Stephanie Aragon. She had 14 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren whom she loved with all of her heart. Robert and Marcella later divorced but she remained very close to him and his family; especially Grandma Trudy who was like a mother to her. She worked at Curry Insurance for over 25 years and was a devoted employee. It was there where she greeted many people with her beautiful smile and kind “Hello”. She made many friends during her time there and was well known and liked throughout Tooele. Mom loved crafts, shopping, yard sales, decorating and gardening. She kept her home immaculate and was complimented frequently on her classy style. Mom had an infectious smile and sweet soul that would always make your day. We couldn’t go anywhere that she didn’t know someone and always knew their name. It would take forever to get through the store. Mom never knew how to drive a car from the front seat but she sure tried from the back. She loved all things beautiful in this world but most of all she loved her children whom she never gave up on to the very end. It has been said that a mother’s love is unconditional; her life if testament to this fact. She is survived by her children, Sister Rosie (Larry) Herrera, Brother’s Gerald “Lele” (Geniel) Vigil, Lawrence Vigil. She is preceded in death by her parents, Sister Cecelia Salazar and grandchildren Joe, Angela, and Daniel Aragon. Funeral services will be held on July 29, 2016 at St. Marguerite’s Catholic Church in Tooele. Mass at 11am and friends may pay condolences one hour prior starting at 10am. Interment will be at Tooele City Cemetery. Following interment we would like to invite friends and family to a luncheon at St. Marguerites in her honor. Richard "Dick" Hutchins
Richard Keel Hutchins ... "Dick"
A man whose heart was pure and without guile.
On a cold, stormy night in Emmett, Idaho, Richard Keel Hutchins was born in his family's home on January 4, 1935 to Elmer and Louva Keel Hutchins. Eighty-one years later on August 1, 2016, he was blessed to also be home surrounded by his family as he passed peacefully into the next life. He patiently battled the effects of Parkinson's Disease for over 17 years. As a young boy, his road led him to Wendover, Utah and then Rush Valley where he lived as a teenager. He was an excellent athlete, playing both basketball and baseball for Tooele High School. He loved those sports so much that he walked home to Rush Valley from practices. Many nights, he walked the whole distance. Some nights, he was lucky enough to hitch a ride. After graduating from Tooele High, he joined the United States Army and was honorably discharged after serving for two years. This time his road led him home to the United States from Germany. He got off the bus at the Blue Bird Confectionery in Grantsville. He met and married Barbara Jefferies, a Grantsville girl, in the Salt Lake Temple on December 7, 1956. The road then led him to Logan where he attended and graduated from Utah State University. In the end, the road led him back to Grantsville where they made their home and raised their three children, Mark, Jeri and Jeff. He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and set an example of Christ-like humility. He had the wonderful opportunity to serve in all the organizations of the church, including bishop, where he touched countless lives. Dick loved golf! His children laugh as they remember how they've seen every golf course in every town they've traveled through. For 33 years he loved his job at Hercules. Both of these loves provided him with great friends. Those whose hearts will miss him on this earth will be: the one who calls him "Sweetheart", Bobbie Hutchins, those who call him "Dad": Mark & Tamee Hutchins, Jeri & Kevin Butler, Jeff & Krista Hutchins ... those who call him "Grandpa": Megan, Jacob, Taylor, Lindsay, Ryan, Whitney, Austin, Tyson, Dillon, Tanner, Jackson, their spouses and 17 great-grandchildren. Those who call him "brother": Calvin & Luana Hutchins and Dolores Bracken and of course, the many who call him "friend." Waiting for him in Heaven are his parents, his parents-in-law, Calbert and Chleo Fidler Jefferies and his great-granddaughter, Gracie Hope Critchlow. Funeral services will be held Friday, August 5, 2016 at noon in the Grantsville LDS West Stake Center at 115 E. Cherry Street, Grantsville, UT. There will be a viewing the night before from 6:00-8:00 PM at the same location and again prior to the services from 10:30-11:45 AM. Interment will be at the Grantsville City Cemetery.
